The Primac® Shop
Floor Information System (SFIS) brings state
of the art technology to the graphic arts plant floor.
SFIS automates the collection of labor time, material
usage, and job status information from all areas of
the plant - from pre-press to shipping. Data is more
accurate and errors are caught at the source.
Using networked PC's with touch screen technology running
in a client-server environment, SFIS not only provides
a faster and easier way for plant personnel to enter
labor and material transactions, now adds the ability
to bring more information back to the plant floor. This
includes review of time sheets, real-time job review,
and with direct access to all other functions in Primac® ,
plant staff and supervisors can see schedule status,
inventory, job tracking and any other Primac® functions
their security level will allow.
All data is validated as entered, then immediately
forwarded to the host Primac® server, where it flows
through the fully integrated relational database to
job costing, WIP, inventory, and payroll. It also feeds
real-time views in job tracking and scheduling. Touch-screens
are faster and easier to use for employees, even for
those employees who sometimes have struggled with barcode
wands. However, barcode scanners can still be used to scan bar coded items, such as paper roll numbers,
job numbers, etc. |
