PRIMAC Introduces New Job Ticket Framework (JTF) for  Designing Interactive and Printed Job Tickets without Programming.

- Create Virtually Any Ticket Layout Supported by Windows™ or Crystal Reports -

February 23, 2006Dallas, TX – VERCOM Software, Inc. today announced that its subsidiary, PRIMAC Systems, Inc., a leader in information management tools for the graphic arts industry, has introduced Job Ticket Framework (JTF), a tool for both the development and utilization of job tickets and other documents within a printing organization.

“For anyone who has labored to create the right job ticket to manage and track client projects effectively, the JTF not only simplifies the process from start to finish, but it’s  so feature rich that customizing content is as simple as utilizing its drag and drop capability, said Michael Cooke, Vice President, Operations, Primac. It’s also about enabling our users to create a job ticket that truly complements existing methodology and processes instead of constraining the work flow system.”

For current Primac users, the JTF captures data from current modules in a seamless manner and facilities full integration with existing systems and external databases. It can also access data from Primac tables including Scheduling and Shop Floor Information System (SFIS). JTF Enterprise extends data access to include any other ODBC compliant database (such as MSSQL, Oracle, FoxPro, etc.).

JTF enables a designer to build in capabilities like Drop Downs, Calendar Controls, Edit Boxes, Grids and other controls that are required for the form or what constitutes an interactive view of the job ticket. A designer places the desired controls on the interactive form, and also creates a print layout for the form using Crystal Reports. The combination of interactive and print views allows a designer to develop virtually any layout that Windows and Crystal Reports support. When the form is complete, an executable file is generated which can be installed on the client PCs and tickets generated as needed.

“In creating a job ticket, a designer wants the most flexibility possible to insure all the parameters of a project are covered, while at the same time being able to add additional types of forms, including quote letters, order confirmations, shipping details and more that management or clients require, said Faisal Bhombal, Director, Application Development.  We looked closely at the entire work flow process and wanted to make sure JTF was not only a powerful tool, but that it was easy learn, to use and to apply to a printer’s everyday needs with virtually no downtime.”

JTF Provides Real-Time Integration with Customer Service

While Job Ticket Framework makes a ticket designer’s job far less complicated, it also allows customer service to include data specific to each job including the number of completed impressions or the status of a job within its schedule on the ticket. Retrieving data to the ticket from its source eliminates look-ups and re-entry, preventing delays and errors.

If jobs are being reordered, JTF includes a cloning capability to carry over key data job-to-job without having re-enter core customer information and preferences on each ticket. Controls are included to allow each ticket to define internal access, what can be changed, by whom and when, simplifying administration.
